Halloween Raffle

We want to thank everyone who participated in our Halloween Fundraiser. We raised about 23% of our goal which was $25000.

Donations came from word of mouth, an article in the Daily Herald and from people who saw our sign outside of EarthPaint. The majority of donations came from facebook groups of people who really wanted the giant displays and couldn’t find them locally.

As we enter the season of giving, please consider EarthPaint with our donation link above.

Greetings, friends!

Well, so much for summer – it sure flew by. Still, we’re staying cool making the best paint around. That’s a statement I’m willing to stand by. I don’t want to get too salesy this high in our message, but no one cares more about paint then me and my crew. It’s what we do. Come on by our shop in Wood Dale and find out.

OK, got that out of the way. Now, since it’s been a little while since our last message, I want to share a few things that are happening in the EarthPaint world.

Free paint donation event in Arlington Heights

Don’t toss your old paint, Arlington Heights! We’re coming to you with a free paint donation event SOON!

Thanks to the generosity of the village of Arlington Heights and Groot Waste Management, there’s no cost to Arlington Heights residents to drop off their unwanted latex paint (up to 10 containers Free).

Additional containers will our normal fees.

Rocking with Rothy’s
Our relationship with Rothy’s, the well-regarded sustainable shoe company, continues to grow. They’ve committed to using EarthPaint in all their new stores. We recently sent off a shipment to Scottsdale, Ariz. We’re so excited to be working with a company that shares our values with regards to sustainability and quality. And it goes to show how versatile our paint is. Check out their store in downtown Chicago (or visit their website)!

EarthPaint in the News

We’ve been busy this summer, and finding ourselves in the news. The Kane County Chronicle did a great write-up of our event in St. Charles, where we worked with the St. Charles Arts Council for its Paint the Riverside community street painting event.

We also chatted with Paint & Coatings Industry Magazine for their podcast, “Coat It!” It was a great opportunity for us to talk to paint industry professionals about why our paint stands up next to big brands.

, ABC7 published a piece on us that did a wonderful job explaining our mission. Our own Matt Molenkamp took a starring role, and I’ve gotta be honest, I teared up a bit watching this. Matt, who has cerebral palsy, said: “The world doesn’t give the same opportunities to people with disabilities…all you have to do is give someone a chance. (EarthPaint) took a chance on me, and I’ve been rolling with it ever since.”

Matt, we couldn’t do this without you!

Welcome, Pat!

We’re lucky this summer to have our first-ever intern: Pat Zareba, who joins us from North Central College in Naperville. Pat’s from Carol Stream and just graduated. He learned about EarthPaint while working on a project during his marketing class. We asked Pat a few questions about his internship.

Why did you join EarthPaint?

I joined EarthPaint as I believed that it would be the perfect internship that works around my morals as well as my personal goals. Not only does paint recycling focus on using using paint to it's fullest potential, it also keeps it out of landfills. I usually find myself using and repairing my personal items far before I even consider replacing them or throwing them out.

What’s the coolest thing you’ve learned this summer?

The coolest thing I learned this summer is there are people that are willing to sit down and listen to what you have to say. In our digital age, most experiences that I have had with people are usually short and to the point, but after diving into the business world, it was awesome to see that conversations and building real-life connections is still highly valued and it's something I have grown to appreciate.

What’s the most important thing you’ve learned about recycled paint?

The most important thing I learned about recycled paint is that it helps keep tons of waste in our landfills. Not only is paint heavy, but it can also take up a lot of space. It also helps limit the amount of carbon emissions that the production of new paint creates.

Describe your internship in three words.
Discipline, Ambition, Contribution

I found that discipline was required especially while I was making my own schedule. It can be very easy to simply not come into work if you set up your own hours, though I knew I had to come in in order to create the change I wanted to see.

Ambition comes from the fact that EarthPaint has so much room to grow. From creating social media pages, consulting with property managers, to even making business cards, I had the opportunity to experience a lot of the ins and outs of business marketing.

Finally, contribution. Not only do I have the pleasure of working with a nonprofit, I am also helping spread the word of an organization that has its roots in saving the planet.

He’s already brought some fresh ideas to EarthPaint, like getting us on TikTok, where we’re sharing cool behind-the-scenes videos. What’s next, EarthPaint in the metaverse? Welcome to the team, Pat!

Yes, we can make that!

We always tell folks we can make any color they want, whether it’s a special shade of eggshell or Pantone’s color of the year, Very Peri. If you want it, we can make it. We’ll do anything we can to satisfy our customers, plain and simple. If you want it, we can make it.

At EarthPaint, we try to do three things: Make great paint people love, clean up the dirty paint industry and help our community by hiring adults with disabilities. It’s paint with purpose.

Without your support, we couldn’t do what we do. Thanks for reading, and thanks for supporting EarthPaint.
